Telnet Access

Access to a shell on your particular UNIX server can be a very helpful asset to webmasters who require complete site management. It is extremely easy to move about your account, set permissions, edit files, debug scripts, and perform various other tasks if you have the knowledge of how a UNIX system works.

If you require Telnet access to your UNIX account, please email tech@jtlnet.com with the following:

A) The reason you require Telnet access.

B) The unique block of IPs you are assigned an address from when you log onto the internet from your area. If you are using Win98/WinNT please open a DOS command prompt ; Start; Program; Command Prompt. Then type ; "ipconfig" and then press enter. This will bring up the following:

IP Address. . . . . . . . . : 222.54.23.34
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . : 222.54.23.1

We need the class C: This would be "222.54.23".

C) The domain which you require Telnet for, and the login and password for that account.
